Offers 1% interest rate with a standard loan term of 20 years. $40,000 loan outstanding at one time. *Grant portion of the program helps elderly homeowners remove health and safety hazards. At least 1 of the applicants must be 62 years of age or older. Necessary repairs have to remove a health and safety hazard or make the home more accessible for a household member with a disability. Grant is forgiven after 3 years. Offers $10,000 lifetime grant maximum.*Program may be able to assist with: adding ramps, handrails, walk-in tubs/showers as well as repairing or replacing items such as roofing, windows, electrical and plumbing issues, furnace, A/C, hot water heater, steps, structural support, insulation, etc.
