Description
Eligibility: Elderly and disabled. Applications are completed for food boxes/food bags. Recipients are identified through the local agencies on aging (NEI3A, Elderbridge AAA) and low income housing complexes. Not based on income.Service Description: The NEIFB provides 8 programs in our 16 county service area. Among those programs are Elderly Nutrition, Mobile Food Pantry, and the Cedar Vallley Food Pantry. The Elderly Nutrition program consists of nutrition boxes for homebound seniors, delivered to their home, and weekend bags available at congregate meal sites for those who can attend the meals. The Mobile Food Pantry is a program that provides under-served communities with a pop-up pantry once a month. The Cedar Valley Food Pantry serves residents of Black Hawk County with food and grocery prodcuts.
